Ever since I discovered Michael Port's Think Big Revolution, I have wanted to facilitate some free, informal telediscussions on a variety of topics related to pursuing passion in your career.
I will be doing the first one on Monday, October 9th at noon Pacific time. I would love to have you there with me!
Here's the basic idea. I start the ball rolling by talking about the topic at hand. But it won't be just me yabbering on. It will be an interactive, collaborative discussion.
As the Collective Genius! blog has made abundantly clear, you all have amazing insights and ideas. I want to make this partially a venue to share my own thoughts, and partially a "clearinghouse" for others to share what they've learned along the way.
Since this is completely new for me and I will be making it up as I go along, "Embracing the new" seems like an appropriate first topic. If you don't try new things, your career (and your life, for that matter) will stagnate. Sometimes the reason you need that newness is to keep growing and creating opportunity, and sometimes it's simply a way to keep things fresh.
So what might we talk about? For example...
* The positive impact of embracing the new
* The effect of avoiding the new
* Why people avoid trying new things
* Ways to overcome the avoidance of the new
It's free to take part. You just pay whatever long-distance fees your long-distance carrier charges. If you'd like to participate, please e-mail me for information on how to dial in.
Looking forward to having you there!
