Agreed. I stopped watching TV three months ago and my life is changed. I've got a heroes website too - I think reading about heroes is a great way to think about your life.

For inspiring videos of varying length, don't forget TED Talks: http://www.ted.com/tedtalks/.

One of my favorite inspirational documentaries is "Amandla! a Revolution in Four-Part Harmony" about how important songs, and everyone (not only the "good" singers) teaching and learning and singing the songs, were to shoring up commitment and spirit during the revolution in South Africa.

I second Ted Talks, it's really wonderful.

I also love:

The Secret - every time I watch it I feel energized and like anything is possible,

The people at Zaadz.com - It's an online community where people are really trying to make the world a better place,

Lee Milteer's book Success is an Inside Job - It really helped gel some ideas about how I was going to go about my job search and keep happy in the process,

Fred Gratzon and his book The Lazy Way To Success - Not only is the book gorgeous, but the ideas in it are a breath of fresh air, it's a great book to convince you to follow your bliss and look for the easiest way to get there,

I also really appreciate this site and all of the resources it provides. I've been reading it on and off for a while and it always gives me a boost.

I could go on and on, but those are some of the big ones that are influencing my life right now. (I also love TV, but I haven't been watching the news for about 8 years and it has served me well!)
