Curt:

Great post. After having been laid off 2 times in 2 years and a relationship ending about 5 months ago--I've had a lot of alone time. A lot of time to think-perhaps too much. And yes, there has been a lot of frustration.

But as they say one door closes and another opens. I'd like to think that, during this transition, I am evolving into a better person, a better potential employee. I do feel this frustration when I'm not making progress in my search. But recently, I completed my 10th speech in Toastmasters and have achieved my CTM (competant Toastmaster). I have changed from a person afraid of giving a presentation into a person who looks forward to speaking. The people in my Toastmasters club have seen my change. It is a good feeling.

I agree with you- sometimes we are just too close to see our changes.

I just wanted to say that I found your blog thru a friend of mine that said, she thought I needed to read your advise, that it might help me... I have been struggling for sometime now in several areas of my life. I have enjoyed reading your entries and appreciate your perspective. I will be back you most certainly have given me some things to ponder on. Thank You.

Laura
