Question: How is this moving me forward?
One of the most common challenges I see my clients encounter is feeling so overwhelmed with activity that they find it difficult to focus on what's really important. They know they need to do the work to explore and make a change, but the busyness of life seems to keep getting in the way.
One thing I often have them do is to look at both their overall commitments and where they spend their time over the course of a day. For each commitment, and each activity taking up time in their day, they ask, "How is this moving me forward? Is this contributing to what's really important right now?"
Often, they find they are able to free up time simply by a) giving themselves permission to not do what's not most important, b) saying no to new commitments that aren't core to what they're focusing on, and c) eliminating activities (like - gasp! - television) that take up space with little or no payoff.

c) eliminating activities
Like all that Blog reading. (I waste way to much time on the internet sometimes.)
