Don't forget about emotional contagion...the infectious nature of positive emotion. Passion is good for you and for the world because it is contagious. Passionate people serve as a model for living. They seem to give others permission to be on fire about something. They go around setting off sparks of enthusiasm.

"A vital life vitalizes." - J. Campbell

"...what the world needs is people who have come alive." - Harold Thurman Whitman

Have I found Passion Central?

Oh, by the way...if passion is an emotion, then are passionate people emotionally inteligent?

Katherine

I've been trying to find information about Harold Thurman Whitman. The quote attributed to him: "Do not ask yourself what the world needs. Ask yourself what makes you come alive, and then go do that. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive" appears to be the only thing he's ever written or done! I can't find any information about him anywhere. I have also found the same quote attributed to Harold Whitman and Howard Thurman. There's tons of informatin about Howard Thurman, but nothing about Harold Whitman or Harold Thurman Whitman. Do you know anything more about him?
Thanks!

I agree passion is the secret ingredient to success. I have tried many different types of jobs, mostly for the money and found that no matter how much I could make I was not happy at work or at home. The key is finding your passion and others will feed off of it and the money seems to follow.

Kathy Connolly

This is from Wikipedia:

"Don't ask yourself what the world needs. Ask yourself what makes you come alive and then go do that. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive."

The actual author of this quote is Dr. Howard Thurman. Harold Thurman Whitman is purely fictional.
