Here's a new blog from retrogirl, an Occupational Adventure Blog reader who is on the cusp of leaving her job in a library and following her passion as a self-employed information professional. From the looks of things thus far, it promises to be a good read.
Part of her reason for blogging about the experience, in her words:
My hope is that someone out there may read this and take some comfort in knowing there are others who feel as you do, who are afraid to risk it, or who want to learn more about what this is really like. Let's face it, you can read all the books and magazine's in the world about starting a business, but the true scope of things is all in the doing.
She wraps up her inaugural post:
There comes a time when we all--every one of us--reach the brink of what I call Tolerance Level. You may call it something else; The End of the Line, Enough is Enough, Take This Job and Shove It, I Am Soooo Over This... . Whatever you call it, it's pretty much the same thing and comes with it the same feelings; we're just done. That's it. Nothing more. Nothing left to give. We're Outta Here.I've reached that point. I don't know where my new path will lead me but I intend to fully enjoy this journey like never before. I want to have something to show for all of my hard work and on my deathbed I want to be able to say I tried.
Yes!!
Curt--Thank you very much for the traffic and for your blog, as well. It's been such an inspiration to me :) .

I'm a self-employed information professional too and live in Germany, Erzgebirge. I've found myself today making christmas trees looking better and teaching many kids to do handmade works. Its really interesting for me to live in germany, in the center of christmas-factory :)
best regrads!
